The festive season seems to have crept up on us in record time once again bringing an end to another productive year.
As usual, New Zealand’s prosperous fishing and marine industries have contributed most of our clientele over the last 12 months. Wire, rope and netting sales at the Nelson branch have been non-stop all year and both our Nelson and Timaru net-lofts have hardly had time to take a breath for months.
Our equipment testing and Core Inspections system has had a record busy year because of the tightening of NZ workplace health and safety regulations and we have seen some unusual and fascinating equipment brought in to be load tested.
We have supplied our high end furling cables to yachts for the Sydney-Hobart race and helped to kit the ‘Baltazar’ support vessel for a 4 month sub-Antarctic trip.
There have been plenty of other jobs to keep the work varied and engaging. Bespoke jobs are always enjoyable and challenging for our staff, and there have been many of these in the last year.
This year Hampidjan NZ have provided balustrading for architectural projects in Nelson and for coastal walking tracks in Picton. Our rigging services have been required for a range of projects including the Nelson Arts Festival, The Boathouse heritage venue and Nelson Fire Station. We have helped to keep kids happy by rigging climbing ropes at Nelson College for Girls, scramble nets at Nelson Central School and St Peter Chanel School, and upgraded the tyre swing at Henley School.
Here’s hoping for an equally prosperous and diverse 2017. Seasons Greetings and a Happy New Year from all at Hampidjan New Zealand Ltd.
